An expert in Occupational Health and Safety with over 25 years of experience in the Energy Industry (Nuclear, Oil & Gas, and Mining).

Peter has extensive operational experience in the field of third-party maintenance inspection programs, set up of new business branches for Inspections services and training services, leading Projects and Teams in several industries and managing QHSE Departments. He has given lectures at the University of Cooperative Education in Karlsruhe, Germany. He has worked in the research and development of special applications for probes to measure ionizing radiation, has developed Integrated Management Systems for several companies, managed the QHSE Department in Shaleem for nearly 10 years and has served on the Board of Directors of the Oman Society of Petroleum Services (OPAL).

Topic: Strengthening Organizational Resilience

Abstract: During the Pandemic is has become apparent that the management of crisis and disaster is a key topic of concern for organizations. Natural disaster, economics recession, equipment failure pandemic diseases and human error can pose either an unpredictable or severe, or a combination of both, severe threat to the continuity of an organization’s operation.

Operational Resilience at present has no uniform definition, however in general organizational resilience describes the ability of an organization to resume, rebound, bounce back, or positively adjust untoward events. Absorption and development of situation specific responses to; and ultimately engage in organizational transformation to capitalize on; extreme external influences on an organization determines the level of an Organizations Resilience.
